How to make a great short video from 5 pictures : Free software 9VAe

The animation below included in the free software 9VAe (Win / Mac / Linux version) was created by Komori in 2000 with EVA Animator. I will explain how to make this video.

Download this animation

PC (Windows/Mac/Linux)

1. Open the example folder> komo_island> 05crab.eva.

Android / iPhone / iPad / Chromebook

Download SVG vector image from Openclipart — Big crab island animation.

1. Tap and hold on [Download > SVG(Vector)].
2. Tap ‘Copy (link address)’ on menu. URL address will be copied.
3. Open 9VAe.
4. Tap ‘Input’ > ‘Download from Web…’ on the menu.
   Tap and hold on http input area. Tap ‘Paste’ to input URL address.

Create video with figures that change shape

• The animation above is made by overlaying figures that change shape. See below.

• The scissors are made of three shapes. They are on the following 6 pages of (1 second) (0.5 second) (1 second) (1 second) (1 second) (0 second).

How to make: Add Next Page and transform the shapes

You can make this video with 9VAe. I will explain how to make it.

• Use the tool button on the upper left (A in the figure below) to draw the first picture. You can change the color and line thickness with the palette on the right (B in the figure below).

• Click “+” (C above ) on the right side of the page and execute “Add Next Page”
• Select a shape (D above) and click Select points button (E above) to change the shape.
• You can zoom it with the “+” (F above) next to the magnifying glass at the bottom left.
• Adjust the time duration with “1 sec” (G above) at the top of the page.
• See the animation with PLAY button

Make animation / video

1. Go to “File Menu > Save As” and save the animation.
2. You can export animated GIFs by “File Menu > Animated GIF Export”. In the smartphone version, GIFs are saved in “9VAe folder” and “Camera Roll”. On the PC version, you can choose where to save the image first.
3. When creating the video material, the screen height will be 720 or 1080. 30 for frames per second. Click “OK” button to export an animated GIF.

Creating Video (MP4)

1. For Mac/ iPhone/ iPad, you can create a MP4 video from the “ Movie Export” in the “File” menu.
2. For Windows/Linux/Android/Amazon Fire, you can convert GIFs to MP4 videos with the online GIF to MP4 Video converter — Ezgif.com
3. For Windows/Linux, you can use APNG to MP4 Video converter — Ezgif.com to convert APNG to MP4 video. It takes a while, but it’s better than GIF.

1. See Online GIF to MP4 Video converter. or APNG to MP4 Video converter — Ezgif.com
2. Select an animated GIF or APNG file (background not transparent)
3. Click on “Upload!” > Click on “Convert GIF to MP4!”
4. Click on “Save” (floppy disk icon) to download the MP4.

• All effects in the following videos are made with 9VAe.
• The created parts are made into anime casts and duplicated in large numbers. Multiple animecasts are grouped together and used as an animecast.
