How to create a simple MP4 video from one photo

This article shows how to create this animation from photo by using Free Software 9VAe (PC or Android or iPhone/iPad).Making time is 10 minutes. Other Making Animations is here.

1. Download 9VAe

• 9VAe (Windows, Mac, Linux)
• 9VAe (Android)
• 9VAe (iPhone/iPad)

2. Click on [1.] in 9VAe and then add background page

1. Open 9VAe.
2. Click [File] on the menu bar > Click [New].
3. Click [1. Pencil ] button (A below) on the right side of the page. Click [OK] if you see “Draw figures. Click this button again.”. This action is important for creating animation.
4. Click [<] (B below) on the left side of the page. Click [Add Background Page] from the menu. The background page will be added on the left side.

3. Download Photo image

1. Open here: Headquarter of Kansai Telecasting Corporation.jpg

PC (Windows/Mac/Linux)

1. Click your right mouse button on the Photo image.
2. Click [Save Link As] in the right button menu. (The menu item will be different according to your browser.)
3. Click [Save] button. Now Photo image file will be saved on your PC.
4. Open 9VAe.
5. Click [Input] on the menu bar > Click [Image/Photo…]. Select the photo file.
6. Select the SVG file. Click [Open].

Android / iOS

1. Tap and hold on on the Photo image.
2. Tap ‘Copy (link address)’ on menu. URL address will be copied.
3. Open 9VAe.
4. Tap ‘Input’ > ‘Download from Web…’ on the menu.
   Tap and hold on http input area. Tap ‘Paste’ to input URL address.
5. Tap ‘OK’ then the photo will appear on the stage.

4. Photo size and position adjustment

1. Drag the Corner handle (C in the figure above) at the selection frame to enlarge the photo.
2. You can change the position of the photo by dragging the [+] in the center of the photo or the border (D in the figure above).
3. 9VAe can not rotate the photo.

5. Move to page 2. Insert an ellipse.

1. Click on page 2 (E above) to go to page 2.
2. Click the ellipse button (F below) and draw an ellipse from the center (G below).
3. If you click the selection button (H below), you can change the color and attributes of the input line.
4. The color palette of the line is the left side below (I below). Let’s make it white.
5. The attribute of the line is the second button from the bottom right (J below), and there are “Vibration, blur, shadow, light, edge” in it. Let’s blur it.
6. If you make a mistake, you can undo it as many times as you like by clicking the undo button (K below).

6. Enter Text.

1. Click Text input button (L in the figure below) to enter characters.
2. You can adjust the font size with the corner handle of the selection frame.(M below)
3. Click the text tab (N below) to change the text color from the color palette. Let’s make it white.
4. Text can have the same attributes as lines. Click the figure tab (O below), click the line type button (P below), and click [Add Edge].
5. The color of the text edge is set with color 2 (Q below). Let’s make it dark blue.
6. The thickness of the text edge can be adjusted with “Wide / Narrow” in the line type menu (P below).

7. One Picture Animation completed

1. Click [1. Pencil ] button (R above) on the right side of the page.
2. [1. Pencil ] button can be clicked any times. Each time One Picture Animation is recreated.
3. You can adjust the speed of the animation by clicking “xx seconds” on the page (S above) .

• If the characters do not come out one by one, the 9VAe version may be old. Please get the Ver.0.6.11 or higher.

8. Animated GIF (or MP4) Export

• Click [File] on the menu bar > Click [Animated GIF Export].
• If you want to create a Youtube video, set the size “Height” to 720.
• In the case of Android / iPhone / iPad, if either the width or the height is left blank, the value is automatically set with maintaining the ratio.

** If you use Macintosh or iPhone /iPad , you can export MP4. (File menu > Movie Export)

9. Convert GIF to MP4 video (ezgif)

1. Open ezgif.com ( Online GIF to MP4 Video converter )
2. Click [Choose File] > Select the created file. (For Android, click “File” and select the output animated GIF)
3. Click [Upload!] button.
4. Click [Convert GIF to MP4!]
5. Click [Save] button (floppy disk icon)

By using Free Software 9VAe, you can create simple loop animation one picture. Please try making animation.
